Wheat and the Tares - Matthew 13
• Pastor Kevin Schaal • Series: Matthew Through Jewish Eyes
Why does God allow hypocrites, false teachers, and unbelievers to coexist with true believers, even within the church? Why do some who claim to follow Christ consistently behave in ways that contradict His teaching? In this sermon from Matthew 13, we examine Jesus’ parable of the Wheat and the Tares and how it answers these important questions. Jesus reminds us that both wheat and weeds must grow together until the time of judgment. This reality applied to the Pharisees in His day, and it still applies today. Though God's Kingdom will come in fullness — with Christ reigning, Satan bound, and judgment executed — for now, the citizens of His Kingdom are being gathered from every corner of the world. Key Truths from this Message: ✽ The Kingdom was promised through the Davidic Covenant and will be fulfilled through Christ. ✽ The wheat (true believers) and the tares (false professors) coexist by God's design, not accident. ✽ The separation between the two will come at the end of the age, not before. ✽ Don’t expect perfection in churches or people — transformation only comes through the gospel and the power of the Holy Spirit.
